This project investigates thrill; how we naturally experience thrill, and how it might be practically designed in new contexts. The research explores the idea that thrill can be reverse engineered into contributing factors, drawing on techniques used in criminology and sociology. These factors are used as a resource to create new ways to thrill. Current areas of design application include dining (Neophile) and air-culture (Airlife).
This project has been published in the twin publications The Taxonomy of Thrill, and Thrilling Designs.
